At Brooklyn Catnip, our mission is to provide the freshest, highest-quality, all-natural catnip, grown and harvested by hand right here in Brooklyn. Through our passion for gardening, we aim to reintroduce nature into our community, support local sustainability efforts, and bring joy to our fellow Brooklynites and their cats - one plant at a time.
About Us:
Hello and thank you for visiting us! We are Tracy and Kevin, long-time New Yorkers with a love for gardening (and cats!).
We are lucky to have access to rooftop space here in Gowanus, and have been passionate about growing our own fruit, vegetables, and herbs for the better part of a decade. On a whim, we decided to grow a few catnip plants to share with our friends and neighbors. We immediately realized how much our feline friends enjoyed having access to fresh, locally grown catnip, and soon after, Brooklyn Catnip was born.
It may seem strange to learn that we do not actually own a cat (one of us has allergies). But we really like cats (and their owners) a lot! Each cat in our lives has been part of our catnip tasting panel and has given our product 2 paws up.
We are delighted to be able to share an all-natural, small batch, pesticide/herbicide-free product for all the cat lovers out there in Brooklyn. There is something incredibly special about cultivating a plant from seed to harvest in the middle of the city, and we wanted to share that experience with you.
